On Friday, 30th July 2021, CBSE declared class 12th results for the year 2021. The candidates who haven’t checked their results can now check the same on the official website – www.cbse.gov.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in. The result is also available via SMS, UMANG app and Digilocker. CBSE has achieved the highest ever pass percentage this year of 99.37 where girls have outshined boys by a slight margin of 0.54 percentage.
CBSE refrained from announcing the merit list of toppers this year as the examinations were cancelled due to the rising cases of the Covid-19 pandemic.
As per the policy decided by a 13-member panel of CBSE, the evaluation criteria was divided as the following:
This year, due to the threatening and adverse consequences of the rising waves of the pandemic, CBSE decided to cancel the board examinations. They used the above-mentioned Alternative Assessment Scheme to evaluate the students of class 12th across the board.
Earlier on 17th June in a press release, the board already clarified that since the marking criteria may differ from school to school for class 10th and 11th (especially for internal assessment), due to the variations in the quality of question papers, the evaluation standard and processes and the mode of conduct of exam etc; there will be no comparison among different schools. Hence, they haven’t announced the merit list of toppers this year.
CBSE has achieved a record high pass percentage as almost all candidates have cleared the class 12th exams. A total of 13,04,561 students registered for the exam and around 12,96,318 have cleared the examination taking the pass percentage at 99.37. Last year, the exams weren’t cancelled, however, the results for the year 2020 were declared on the basis of the scores in the subject for which exams were already conducted.
However, “the result of about 1,060 new schools is still under process as there was no reference year. Hence, the board is looking into the interest of these candidates and their results will be declared latest by August 5” said Sanyam Bhardwaj, Controller of Examinations. They have been kept under the “result later” category. Due to this, the scores of 65,184 candidates have been held back
With class 12th results out, CBSE will soon release class 10th results as well. We will update you with the details for class 10th once CBSE announces it. For the 2021-22 board exams, CBSE has introduced a Special Assessment Scheme for both class 10th and 12th. In its circular, CBSE has given three main pointers for the next session board examinations:
