Delhi Nursery Admissions 2023: DoE has granted One-Month Relaxation on Age Limit

The Delhi Nursery Admissions 2023-24 are to begin on December 1, 2022 and the last date is December 23, 2022. The information regarding the candidates shortlisted in the first round will be released on January 20, 2023. The Directorate of Education has recently conveyed to schools that relaxation of a maximum of one month of age can be allowed.

The relaxation is applicable on both upper and lower age limits. Apart from the nursery admission, this age criterion is being implemented for both KG admission and class 1 admission in Delhi as well. The upper age limit, as determined by the DoE for nursery, kindergarten, and class 1 is 4, 5, and 6  years and the lower age limit is 3, 4, and 5 years, respectively (as of March 31, 2023). 

The message circulated by the DoE states: “It is reiterated that age relaxation of up to 30 days may be granted at the level of the heads of the school in both the minimum and maximum age limit. Therefore, any parent seeking age relaxation in respect of their ward may approach the school principal through a manual application for his or her consideration”.
