According to the Directorate of Education, admissions in Delhi for Nursery, Kindergarten, and class 1 will be commencing on 1 December 2022. The last date for submitting application forms to schools is 23 December 2022. Like every year, the DoE has designed the eligibility criteria for Delhi School Admissions 2023-24.

Minimum Age for Admission to Nursery in Delhi

The Delhi Schools Admission Selection Criteria are as follows:

  • To get admission in the private unaided schools for children falling under General Category, the Point System method will be followed
  • These points are defined by the Selection Criteria that each school has agreed to
  • Maximum points are 100
  • According to the seat availability, the children who have attained the maximum points will be selected by the school
  • The schools will be going for a Lucky Draw method in case when the scores will be the same  
  • The point allotment parameters for admission, in the end, will only be defined by the schools 
  • It will only be the school’s choice when it’ll come to the distribution of points
  • Any school can’t include the points that the government has abolished

There are some additional points as well that are a part of the Admission criteria in some schools in Delhi. Listed below are the parameters and some of them are adopted by the schools to give preferences to children falling under them: 

  • Neighborhood (students who are living nearby. The distance is calculated either via road distance or radial calculation)
  • Staff Ward (children and grandchildren of the staff of the same school)
  • Girl Child
  • Only Child
  • Child of Delhi Police Personnel
  • Regional Minority
  • Alumni (parent(s) being the alumnus/alumni)
  • Single Parent 
  • Adopted child
  • Transferred from another school (state, city, or international)
