The foundation of Birla Vidya Niketan was laid by Dr. Sarla Birla and Mr. B.K. Birla in September 1983. It started as a small institution and is now home to around 4000 students. The school has a progressive vision and focuses a lot on providing value-based education to the students. The academic curriculum of the school is designed according to the guidelines of CBSE and offers education to the students of classes Nursery to XII. Ms. Minakshi Kushwaha, the principal of the school wants to help the students discover innate capabilities, set goals, find missions, have aspirations to excel, and tirelessly work towards their fulfillment. The campus of the school is spread over an area of 6.5 acres and is disabled-friendly.

It also has a proper body for MUN (Model United Nations) to encourage critical thinking and public speaking in students. Educational tours to places like art galleries, heritage sites, and other places are also organized by the school.
