Modern School Barakhamba Road has been offering word class education to its students for last more than 100 years as it was established in 1920 by Lala Raghubir Singh. The school believes in the idea that the whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows as it wants to do the same for its students. It has an urban-type campus spread over an area of 24 acres and provides a good learning environment to its students. Dr. Viajy Datta, The Principal of the school believes that education is more about the all-around development of human personality and potential like physical, mental, moral, and spiritual. The school has a decent student-teacher ratio of 24:1 which makes learning concepts much easier.

Its DEAR (Drop Everything and Read) initiative encourages students to read books out of their curriculum. To add to the vocabulary of school students it has A word a Day practice in which students are supposed to learn at least one new word every day.
