Q – What is the admission procedure for Class KG?
Answer – The admission procedure for Class KG depends on Schools, some of the schools follow the same process as per DOE and some of them set their own application end date and work as per the availability of the seats.

Q – What is the admission procedure for EWS and DG category Admissions?
Answer – The admission procedure for EWS and DG Category gets updated on http://www.edudel.nic.in/ after general category admissions.

Q – If a child is in nursery in a play school, will he be eligible for KG in formal school?
Answer – Yes, To apply directly in any entry-level class (Nursery / KG/ Class 1) a child should fall under the defined eligibility criteria only. Schools might take the test or interview depending on their admission process.

Q – What is the age relaxation for admission in primary classes in Delhi?
Answer – The age relaxation for admission of up to 30 days may be granted at the level of head of school in the minimum & upper age limit for these classes. The parents may approach the Head of School/Principal for seeking age relaxation through a manual application.

Q – What is the eligibility criteria for Entry level Classes as per DOE?

Class Minimum Age Limit as on 31st March 2023 Maximum Age Limit as on 31st march 2023
For Preschool (Nursery) 3 years Less than 04 years
For Pre-Primary (KG) 4 years Less than 05 years
For Class- 1st 5 years Less than 06 years

Q – My child is 4yr 1 month as on 31st March 2023, Can I apply for class nursery ? Is there any age relaxation that schools are providing for this year?
Answer – Age relaxation is provided by the schools and totally depends on the school’s discretion and will be decided by the school’s higher authorities only.

Q – What are the selection criteria of Delhi schools for primary classes?
Answer – Following are the points schools consider while taking admission to primary classes.

  • Entry-level admissions to the private unaided schools in Delhi are completely regulated by DOE from starting of the application form date till the result declaration.
  • Schools are required to follow the ‘point system’ for general category admissions.
  • Points are allocated as per ‘the adopted selection criteria by each school’.
  • The applicant with the maximum points is selected for the school as per the seats available.
  • Lucky draw is used as the determining factor in the case of ‘similar scores’.
  • The final consensus of point allocation is applied by the school in case of admissions.
  • Schools cannot include the criteria of point calculation that have been abolished by the government.

Q – How to identify schools where I can apply through UniApply?
Answer – You need to check UniApply’s Official partner tag for the preferred school. In case the school doesn’t have an official application partner tag you can’t apply to those schools.

Q – I have shortlisted 10 schools but I’m not able to make the payment for all of them?
Answer – For applying to all the shortlisted schools you need to check whether the school is UniApply’s Official partner or not. In case the school doesn’t have an official application partner tag you can’t apply to those schools.

Q – How to check the age eligibility for the schools?
Answer – Parents can check the eligibility in the “admission criterion and eligibility” section. You need to select the class to check the eligibility for your preferred class.

Q – Can I change my registered email address once I have logged in with one email id?
Answer – Once the parent has registered on UniApply, that email id can never be changed but they can change the contact number.

Q – Can I fill out a form for my 2 children?
Answer – Yes, you can fill out the form for multiple children through the same user ID.

Q – How will I get to know the status of my application once I have submitted the application via UniApply?
Answer – You will get the confirmation over message and email, and also you will get notified at each and every step once the school takes any action on your application via email or message on a real-time basis. You can also check the status on the Uniapply User Dashboard.

Q – Is a child’s Aadhar Card mandatory for Nursery admission?
Answer – No, Child’s Aadhar card is not a mandatory field to apply for nursery class

Q – Is Domicile a mandatory document while applying?
Answer – No, a Domicile certificate is not a mandatory document while applying for primary school admission in Delhi. 

Q – My child’s name is not printed on the birth certificate but she has her passport and Aadhaar card in her name. Will it work?
Answer – Name endorsed on a Birth certificate is required or else the aadhaar card of the child or passport would also work in this scenario.

Q – My Child’s birth certificate is in a different language (Bengali / Marathi), Do  I need to convert it into either Hindi or English?
Answer – Usually schools accept birth certificates in different languages under the following conditions- the DOB of the child and the Father’s Name & Mother’s Name should be in a readable format.

Q – What are the documents required for the admission process in Delhi?
Answer – The following documents are required for the admission process – 

  • Child’s & Guardian’s recent passport-size Photograph and Family Photograph.
  • Aadhar card of one of the Guardian (Child’s aadhaar card in few schools).
  • Birth Certificate of the child.
  • Residential Proof which can be one of them: Ration card/Smart Card, Domicile certificate, Electricity Bills, Water Bills, MTNL Phone Bill, Voter ID card,
  • Passport, Aadhar Card.
  • In some schools, a Medical Fitness Certificate issued by a registered Medical practitioner is also required.

Q – What documents are needed for a first girl child, since there are schools that allot points for this factor?
Answer – An affidavit is required in cases of the first girl child.

Q – Do I need to upload any supporting documents in case of alumni for the same school?
Answer – Yes, the Parent must carry either the Marksheet/ Roll no./ Fee receipt while applying for admission.

Q – I have a 2-month-old Rent Agreement, will the school accept this as valid address proof or do I need to attach some supporting documents?
Answer – As per DOE, the Rent agreement should be at least 6 months old, and registered would be considered as a valid address proof. 

Q – Do I need to submit a school-specific affidavit in case of only a girl child / single child?
Answer – Yes, you need to upload the affidavit in case of only girl child / single child while applying for Delhi schools.

Q – Do I need to fill multiple forms for multiple schools or One form is enough for all schools?
Answer – No, you can apply for all the official partner schools using a common application form.

Q – What are the Mandatory documents to be uploaded in the UniApply Common Application Form?
Answer – The following are the mandatory documents to be uploaded in the form –

  • Child Photo
  • Birth Certificate
  • Address Proof
  • Photo of Mother
  • Photo of Father

Q – Do I need to make one-by-one payments in case I want to apply for multiple schools?
Answer – No, You can add all your schools to a cart and make the payment through the provided mode of payment.

Q – How schools will be calculating the distance? Is it Road distance or Aerial Distance?
Answer – Schools calculate the aerial distance between the applicant’s address to the school.

Q – I want to get my son/daughter admitted to my school but in a different branch. So will I get alumni points for different branches of the same school?
Answer – No, the Alumni points are for those parents who have studied in that particular branch of the school, they cannot be transferred internally.

Post Application Process Queries

Q – How will I get to know whether my child has been admitted to a school or not?
Answer – You can check your dashboard to know the status of your application and also school will upload their shortlisting as per the DOE timeline.

Q – Is there any physical interaction or interview that will be taken by the school?
Answer – It depends on the school process if they want to call the parent for interaction and will be informed to the parent as well.

Q – What happens when 2 applicants get the same points?
Answer – DOE has defined an authentic & surveillance lottery system in which the school invites the parents who get the same points and run a lottery.
